Lantau Peak
Friday morning found me drenched in sweat, climbing a never-ending flight of rough stone steps in complete darkness, to the sound of morning prayers echoing out from a far-off monastery. At 5am some friends and I got up and set off to climb Lantau Peak, second highest peak in Hong Kong at 934m. We had no idea that it was going to be stairs the entire way.

Long Weekend in China
So last weekend I managed to take a break, and got out to rural China for four days. I took the sleeper train south to Guilin, and arrived in a country which seemed such a world away from the westernised Hong Kong.
